What happens

Johnny Dollar investigates a missing $58,000 from the O-Lang Zion furniture company in North Weldon, Massachusetts. The company's owner, Mr. J. Worthington-Keasley, discovered the vault empty and attributes the theft to Roscoe James Pula, an employee who vanished three years, five months and sixteen days earlier, leaving only a note that says "Good-bye suckers." Johnny must track down the missing employee and recover the stolen building fund.

The O-Lang Zion furniture company in North Weldon, Massachusetts, an old-fashioned New England town where the company maintains traditions from decades past, including horses and carriages instead of automobiles.

Characters: Johnny Dollar, Nick Weldon, Mr. J. Worthington-Keasley, Roscoe James Pula

Listen for: The contrast between Johnny's modern sensibilities and the deliberately old-fashioned customs of the furniture company; Johnny's reactions to the eccentric traditions and the puzzle of why the theft went unnoticed for so long.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
