What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar is called to investigate the Tolhurst fur shop theft, where three masked men stole nearly $50,000 at gunpoint. When a mysterious woman calls claiming to know where one of the thieves is hiding, Johnny pursues the lead to Boston, but discovers that tensions among the robbers may run deeper than a simple heist.

A tri-state area including Boston and Hartford, involving a fur shop, hotels, and insurance offices.

Characters: Johnny Dollar, Jim Madison, The Woman Informant, Walter Taft, Mr. Tolhurst

Listen for: The mysterious woman's motivations for helping Johnny instead of calling the police; the revelation about tensions and possible double-crossing among the three robbers; details about why a furrier would keep such a large sum of cash on hand.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
