What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar is called in when 80 silver blue mink coats worth $100,000 are stolen from a warehouse in Los Angeles. A warehouse worker named Chrisman is beaten unconscious during the robbery, and the thieves gain entry using a telegram as a ruse. With few leads and a neighborhood full of frightened residents who won't cooperate with police, Johnny must find the culprits before they strike again.

Los Angeles warehouse district near the river bottom and railroad yards, a poor neighborhood filled with slums and gang activity.

Characters: Johnny Dollar, Ralph Dean, Lieutenant Garcia, Chrisman, Mr. Bentley

Listen for: Chrisman's description of the boy who showed him the telegram, and Johnny's investigation into the local gangs and silent community that may know more than they're saying.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
