What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar is looking into the death of Ricardo Amorego, a musician who apparently drove his car off a bridge into a South Jersey swamp. Dollar has recovered Amorego's prized Amati violin from the marsh and begins visiting those who knew him, including Pete Corbin, Jerry Goldsmith, and Eric Snowden, a violin maker. When Goldsmith examines the recovered violin, he finds something wrong with its tone despite no visible damage.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
