What happens

Johnny Dollar turns over the gun found on Amy Durant's body to the police and discovers through ballistics that it is indeed the murder weapon. Lieutenant Akins closes the case, convinced Amy stole money, shot the auditor, and took poison. But as Dollar investigates further, talking to those who knew the auditor, he finds troubling inconsistencies in this neat conclusion.
