What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar arrives in Benton to look into the Parakoff murder case. Harlan Wolf, partner and beneficiary of the deceased Parakoff, has been arrested for the killing, and East Coast Underwriters wants Dollar to prevent their $100,000 policy from going to pay for an execution. Dollar meets with Wolf's defense attorney Eric Bakker and then visits Parakoff's widow Marsha to learn what he can about the circumstances of the murder.

Listen for: A murder investigation complicated by a stubborn widow and a prosecution playing dirty; the dynamic between an insurance investigator and a desperate defense attorney

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
