What happens

Special investigator Johnny Dollar is hired by insurance executive Garrett Reynolds to protect Cyril Heatherstone, a flamboyant Shakespearean actor who is staging a festival at radio station WVGR in Trenton, New Jersey. Heatherstone has received anonymous threats and has made many enemies among his cast and crew, who resent his arrogance and his treatment of them. Dollar follows the actor to a rehearsal at the station, where the tension among the players is clear. Heatherstone's personal entanglements with the actress Joan Carter and her suitor Charlie are also drawn out during the rehearsal. The series features Bob Bailey as Johnny Dollar, and this episode aired on CBS Radio on July 14, 1957.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
