What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar arrives in San Francisco to look into a gold rush matter, then travels to Virginia City and the remote Scarlet Queen mine in Six Mile Canyon. Upon arrival at the mine, he's shot at and nearly killed by Leona, a woman protecting the property, who mistakes him for whoever has been causing trouble at the mine. Leona reveals that someone has been using explosives at the mine, killing at least one person and blinding her Uncle Dave.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
