What happens

Johnny Dollar, a freelance insurance investigator, is asked by his employer George Reed to look into a set of counterfeit hundred-dollar bills paid as an insurance premium by Durango Laramie Dalhart, a Oklahoma rancher. Dollar travels to the remote ranch at Bumspung, Oklahoma, where he meets Dalhart's niece Carol, a woman who handles a gun with skill and proves more curious than her surroundings suggest. Dollar notes the contrast between the shabby ranch and the modern comforts inside the house, and he begins to question the source of Dalhart's money. The Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar series, broadcast on CBS Radio, stars Bob Bailey in this 1957 episode, with Edmond O'Brien, John Lund and Charles Russell also among the lead actors.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
