What happens

Johnny Dollar, a special insurance investigator, looks into a $3,000 life insurance claim. Beneficiary Peter Upman insists he never received the check, yet the bank records show a man matching his description cashing it. Dollar travels to Milford, Connecticut, to meet Upman, his lawyer Alfred R. Price, and bank president Barton Winfield Oliver. Dollar questions the reliability of the bank's photographic record and the cashier who identified the claimant, and he begins to test the statements of the people involved. The episode is from the Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar series, broadcast on CBS Radio on April 3, 1960, with Bob Bailey in the title role.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
