What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar arrives in Clinton, Colorado to investigate a school building that burned down, killing the janitor. The fire chief believes overheated boilers caused the accident, but Dollar hears rumors that building irregularities were suspected before the fire. Dollar confronts the school's contractor, Roy Vickery, who insists it was simply a terrible accident caused by a drunken janitor.
