What happens
Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar flies to San Francisco to investigate a major office building fire that destroyed one of real estate magnate Arnold Bennett's properties. Fire investigator Billy Underwood believes it was a professional arson job, and Bennett insists that Tony Midas, a former employee he prosecuted for theft who recently left prison, is responsible for the fire.
San Francisco, California; Bennett's real estate office
Characters: Johnny Dollar, Andrew Court, Billy Underwood, Arnold Bennett, Elizabeth Bennett, Tony Midas
Listen for: The description of the mysterious man seen near the building before the fire, Bennett's aggressive denials and accusations against Tony Midas, and the growing tension as Dollar begins his investigation into whether this was truly arson or insurance fraud.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
