What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar flies to Sarasota, Florida after learning that a man he recently insured for $50,000 has been found dead floating under his agent's dock. What initially appears to be a heart attack becomes a murder investigation when the coroner discovers the man was struck fatally in the face with a wrought iron poker. As police search for the missing Mrs. Carter, suspicion falls on the wife, though a younger beneficiary—a former stripper named Mitzi Taylor living in New York—also had motive.

Sarasota, Florida, a bayou area with expensive homes and private docks

Characters: Johnny Dollar, Earl Poorman, Sergeant Wade, Dr. Phillips, Dr. Theo Foote, Ralph Carter, Mrs. Carter, Mitzi Taylor

Listen for: The revelation that Carter's death was murder, not natural causes; the discovery of Mrs. Carter's threatening words to her husband the night before; the introduction of multiple suspects with financial motives.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
