What happens
Johnny Dollar, an insurance investigator for the Continental Insurance and Trust Company, is called to New York by Lucian R. Fletcher, who fears his partner William Spade intends to murder him to take over their advertising agency. When Johnny arrives at Fletcher's apartment, he finds Fletcher shot through the heart, apparently by a small-caliber gun. Lieutenant Randy Singer of homicide joins him, and the two begin piecing together the timeline. The episode is part of the Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar series, starring Bob Bailey, and this version was broadcast on CBS Radio in 1960.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
