What happens
Johnny Dollar, a freelance insurance investigator, is hired to guard Rosie Baron of Iowa, a 980-pound prize Poland-China hog owned by Worthington Tiller and insured for $25,000. At the Carver County Fair, a diamond brooch belonging to Mrs. Tiller is snatched from her in a crowd during a photographer's flash. Sheriff Harry Bluett suspects Johnny of involvement, and a known thief from Arkansas is identified from the photograph. The story follows Johnny as he works the fairgrounds, meets Alva Anderson, who sold the hog, and tries to track down both the thief and the missing brooch. The episode was broadcast on CBS Radio on August 21, 1949, with Bob Bailey, Edmond O'Brien, John Lund and Charles Russell in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
