What happens
Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar arrives at the Connecticut estate of murdered policyholder Loyo B. Martin to determine whether the insurance company must pay out. Martin was shot twice in the back in his library, and Lieutenant Markwood has identified four suspects, all living in the household: Martin's young wife Joy Ann, his jealous housekeeper Mrs. Tompkins, his broke younger brother Marty, and the bodyguard Nick Bellotti. Each has motive and opportunity, and all seem reluctant to talk.
The Martin estate in Fairfield County, Connecticut, particularly the Victorian mansion with its library where the murder occurred.
Characters: Johnny Dollar, Edmund Dobrion, Mrs. Martin (Joy Ann), Lieutenant Markwood, Mrs. Tompkins (housekeeper), Marty (Martin's younger brother), Nick Bellotti (bodyguard)
Listen for: Johnny Dollar's investigation as he interviews the suspects and uncovers their connections to the victim and to each other, especially the romantic entanglements involving the young widow and the housekeeper's jealousy.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
