What happens

Jerry, a young performer with the circus, learns from Major Mike that his late grandfather Gustave, known as a miserly man, is rumored to have hidden a fortune in gold. Jerry and his friend Speed decide to play a ghost prank on the Major while he writes a letter in his tent after the show. The Major is startled to hear a voice claiming to be Gustave, who tells him that his gold is buried near an elm tree in Parker City and must be recovered at once. The Major doubts the voice and plans his own course of action. Mr. Randall, the circus manager, speaks with Jerry and Speed about the prank and warns them that a practical joke must never cause real harm or become cruel.

A traveling circus lot, including the Major's tent and the circus grounds, with recollections of the town of Parker City.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
