What happens
Jerry Dugan and the circus crew deal with a rainy day that threatens the evening show. Mr. Randall receives a telegram-style letter from the Montana Overland Railroad addressed to Jerry's father, Timothy Dugan, asking for the owner's address about a property in Montana. Meanwhile, strange sounds of cats and a dog fight puzzle the group, with the voices seeming to come from the tent and a nearby tree. Speed, the performer, reveals a ventriloquism trick, and the circus folk take it in good humor. Jerry and Speed then start planning a prank on the major, a midget performer who is superstitious.
A circus lot during a rainstorm, with the circus office, the tent and wagons, and later the dining area at supper.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
