What happens

Jerry of the Circus follows young Jerry and his friend Slats as they work at a circus after a flood soaks the lot. Jerry is assigned to clean the horses, and he feels that Boris, the Russian horse trainer, treats the staff badly. Boris also complains that his horses have not received their proper oats and bedding, and he threatens to take the matter to Mr. Randall. Slats and Jerry then plan a prank on Boris, writing him a flattering letter from a supposed countess who invites him to a costume ball. The transcript ends as they are still drafting the letter. Original air date: November 5, 1937.

A circus lot and grounds, flooded after a morning rain, with its main tent, horse area and dining area.

Characters: Jerry, Slats, Boris, Marie, Mr. Randall, Murray, Whitey, Mark

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
