What happens
Jerry and Mr. Hadley, the detective, suspect that the strongman Belco is hiding counterfeit money. Jerry suggests that Belco's heavy belt may conceal a secret pocket, and Jerry's dog Rags is trained to fetch it. Once the belt is taken, the two examine it and find counterfeit bills hidden inside. Hadley then arranges with Treasury agents at the post office to watch a package Belco mails. The episode is from the Jerry of the Circus series, which first aired on November 3, 1937.
A circus, with its wagons and performing grounds, and a nearby post office in a town.
Characters: Jerry, Mr. Hadley, Belco, Rags, Todnetti
Listen for: Jerry's plan to get Belco's belt away from him using the dog Rags, and what the belt reveals.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
