What happens

Jerry and Rags, a dog, are at the circus after a day of performing. Jerry is upset because he has heard that an elephant named Maude may die of grief after losing a companion, and he is unhappy about it. Rags returns from behind a wagon carrying a starving kitten. Jerry asks whether he can keep the kitten, but the animal is taken to the doctor first. Major Bumps has also been feuding with Belko, a strongman who has been claiming great feats with his teeth, and Mr. Randall is considering featuring Belko under the main top. Jerry later brings the kitten to Kelly, the animal man, and the two watch Maude, who has been lying listless and is beginning to move.

A circus lot and its backyard, including the animal wagons, the office wagon, and the sideshow.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
