What happens

Jerry and his friend Jason sneak into a barn at night to search the belongings of Mr. Platt, hoping to find stolen bonds that could help clear Spike, who is in jail. Inside, they search an old trunk and discover it has a false bottom, and they work to find how it opens. Their search is interrupted when Mr. Platt returns and catches them in the barn. Jerry is sent to the house to telephone the police, while Jason is left facing Mr. Platt's gun. Jerry of the Circus was a radio series, and this episode aired on September 17, 1937.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
