What happens
Jerry and Patsy visit the post office across from the circus lot so Jerry can mail a letter to Mr. Richard Grayson. While they are there, Mr. Bradley shows them the wanted posters on the wall. Jerry studies the photograph of an escaped convict, Max Peters, and becomes convinced he has seen the man somewhere before. Patsy doubts him, but Mr. Bradley encourages Jerry to keep trying to remember where he saw the face. Earlier, the pair talked about the trouble with the elephant Zeke and the rampaging Gertie, and about the new man hired to replace Zeke. This episode is part of the Jerry of the Circus series, first broadcast on August 24, 1937.
A circus lot and the post office across the street from it
Characters: Jerry, Patsy, Mr. Bradley, Jason, Max Peters
Listen for: Jerry studying the wanted poster and insisting he has seen Max Peters before
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
