What happens
Jerry Dugan and his friend Patsy, performers with the Randall Brothers Circus, visit a bank to ask about a safety deposit box their late father rented. The bank manager, Mr. Burnside, explains that the box has been unclaimed for years and that state law requires a court's permission before a minor can open it. Patsy suggests they consult a young lawyer, Richard Grayson, whose office is upstairs. Grayson agrees to take the case and asks for the box details and the signature of Jerry's guardian, Uncle Dan, who is currently in hospital. The scene is set for the lawyer to pursue the court process. This is the first part of the episode, from the Jerry of the Circus series, original air date August 10, 1937.
A bank in a city, and the office of a young lawyer on the third floor of the same building; the Randall Brothers Circus is in town.
Characters: Jerry Dugan, Patsy, Mr. Burnside, Richard Grayson, Uncle Dan
Listen for: Whether the court will grant Jerry permission to open his father's safety deposit box, and what is inside it.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
