What happens
Jerry and Bob travel on a circus train through a flooded stretch of country, where the rail trestle over the Horn River is judged too weak for the heavy load. Mr. Randall, the circus manager, inspects the old bridge and decides the show must find another way to reach the next town. Elephants and wagons are tested before crossing, and the circus works through the night to move everything over. By morning the performance is running late, and the bearded lady reports that Major Mike, one of the circus's performers, has gone missing.
A circus train travelling at night through flooded country toward the Horn River trestle, and then the circus grounds the next morning.
Characters: Jerry, Bob, Mr. Randall, Sam, Mr. Arnold, Ray, Gertie, Paul Murray
Listen for: Gertie refusing to cross the old trestle and how the elephants test whether the bridge will hold, along with the news that Major Mike is missing.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
