What happens
Jerry Dugan, a young performer with the circus, gets up before dawn with his dog Rags to watch the crew unload and set up the big top on a muddy lot. Head canvas man Paul Murray shows him how the tents are raised and how the flares mark out the layout. Jerry visits the cook tent, where Leo is making breakfast for the workers. Later, Mr. Randall receives a telegram warning that a weakened trestle over the Horn River may be unsafe for the circus cars, and he must decide whether to cross it. The episode is part of the Jerry of the Circus series.

Characters: Jerry Dugan, Rags, Bob, Paul Murray, Bert, Pat, Leo, Mr. Randall
Listen for: Paul Murray explaining how flares mark the tent layout and why the center poles are spaced closer on wet days.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
