What happens
Jerry, a young performer with the circus, looks after the animals with Jason and hears news of his Uncle Dan from Patsy's father's letter. When Lorenz and Decker fail to appear for their act and the payroll money is missing, suspicion falls on Jason, and Jerry tries to find out where the two men have gone. Old friendships and past dealings between the men come into the open in a tense exchange on the back of a moving train. The guide ends here, before the outcome is settled.
