What happens

Jack Benny spends a spring afternoon tending his backyard garden in Hollywood, with help from his valet Rochester and his cast mates Mary Livingstone and Phil Harris. Rochester is pressed into the garden work, and a stray chicken and some suspicious mushrooms add to the trouble. Benny plans a cucumber crop and bickers over the cucumbers' share, while Dennis Day faces a dispute over a lawn-mowing job. Benny and his cast then head to the studio for the evening broadcast, which is sponsored by Jell-O and first aired on March 30, 1941 on NBC and CBS Radio.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
