What happens
Jack Benny opens the show by fretting over Don Wilson, who was upset after a slip on television, and Jack phones Wilson's home only to learn Don has shut himself in a closet. Dennis Day tells a comic story about a poodle and gasoline, Phil Harris trades jokes with Jack, and Mrs. Wilson performs a commercial song for Don's benefit. Songwriter Wolfie Gilbert then visits Jack to discuss the song Jack has written and to recall his own hits, including Waiting for the Robert E. Lee. The Jack Benny Program aired on NBC and CBS Radio on February 3, 1952, with Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
