Jack Benny prepares to travel to New York to try to get his song published, and his friends see him off. Before he leaves, Phil Harris lends him money and then discovers Jack has taken out an insurance policy on his life, while Mary Livingstone and Rochester help with packing and luggage. At the railroad station, Jack runs into a series of odd delays, mix-ups with tickets and a porter, and a bulletin board announcing a turkey raffle. The program airs on NBC and CBS Radio on February 10, 1952, with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris in the lead.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
