What happens
Jack Benny tries to sell his large Beverly Hills house for $100,000 after living there for fifteen years. He shows the property to a prospective buyer, Mr. Borden, while a plumber's hammering and a string of interruptions keep getting in the way. Mary Livingstone, Dennis Day and Bob Crosby drop by, each with their own comments on the sale. The deal seems close, but Jack's attempts to close it keep running into trouble. Jack Benny is the lead actor, and the episode was broadcast on October 11, 1953 on NBC and CBS Radio. The story continues with a golf outing and a confusing mix-up over the buyer.

Listen for: Jack's repeated attempts to close the sale and the running jokes about the plumber's hammering
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
