What happens

Jack Benny and his cast prepare to leave Los Angeles for New York, where they will perform two radio shows and a television program. At his Beverly Hills home, Rochester packs Jack's luggage, including his violin, and Jack's train accommodations become a source of complaint. Don Wilson, Bob Crosby and Frank Remley are among those heading to the station, and Jack stops at his vault for travel money. The episode is a comic send-off built around the cast's last-minute errands and the trip to the Super Chief. This 1954 broadcast of The Jack Benny Program aired on NBC and CBS Radio, with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris among the leads.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
