What happens

Jack Benny prepares his Beverly Hills home for a Christmas dinner with Ronald and Benita Coleman, who are expected at eight. Jack fusses over the menu with his butler Rochester, while his radio cast, including Mary Livingstone and Phil Harris, misbehaves at the table. Mix-ups over a hired English butler and a stream of guests' confusion over the house and names build up as the Colemans arrive and the evening gets underway. The episode aired on December 23, 1945, on NBC and CBS Radio, with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
