What happens
Jack Benny recounts his Christmas party at his Beverly Hills home, joined by Mary Livingstone, Dennis Day, Rochester and Phil Harris. Dennis complains about a swallowed earring and a lost bicycle, Mary and Jack trade jokes about their gifts, and Don Wilson reads a newspaper item about the party. Phil and Mary rehearse a song for an upcoming club opening, and Rochester gets New Year's Eve off with a stern warning from his boss. The program closes with Jack's annual New Year's sketch, in which the old year 1941 prepares to leave the boarding house run by Uncle Sam and Columbia. This is an episode of the Jack Benny radio series, first broadcast on December 28, 1941, with Jack Benny in the lead.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
