What happens
Jack Benny and his friends stop for lunch at a corner drugstore after rehearsal, where a small argument over the bill and a chance meeting with an old acquaintance from a farm fill the afternoon. Later, Jack is worried about his parrot Polly, who has been sitting on a coconut and seems melancholy. Rochester suggests something is wrong, and Mary Livingston jokingly recommends a psychiatrist, so Jack takes the bird to a doctor who specialises in animals. The doctor asks Jack about Polly's habits and gives the parrot a word association test to find out what is troubling her.

Listen for: The word association test given to Polly and the doctor's conclusion about her moods
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
