What happens
Jack Benny is trying to reach Rochester by telephone after learning that Rochester told him he wanted a day off for a friend's wedding, but was seen leaving a movie theater the previous afternoon. Mary Livingstone reports seeing him with a girl outside Grauman's Chinese Theatre, where a film is playing. Benny's calls go astray through a series of confused telephone operators and wrong numbers, while the cast chats in the studio. Dennis Day arrives late with a story about his new car, and Don Wilson raises the idea of growing a mustache. The Jack Benny Program, sponsored by Lucky Strike, aired on NBC and CBS Radio on November 23, 1952.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
