What happens

Jack Benny and his cast perform a comedy sketch on the Jell-O program, a parody of Walt Disney's Snow White reworked as Snow White and the Seven Gangsters. Jack plays Doc Benny, leader of a gang of bandits planning to rob a bank, while Mary Livingstone plays Snow White, who is pursued by a wicked stepmother and a poison apple. Phil Harris, Kenny Baker and Eddie Anderson play the gang members and other characters. The episode first aired on January 8, 1939, on NBC and CBS Radio, and is an entry in the Jack Benny series. The broadcast opens with banter among the cast about Jack's supposed romantic reputation and a dispute over whether the Snow White play was announced the previous week. Kenny Baker sings a song from the film, and the sketch moves through Snow White's flight into the forest and her encounter with the gang at their hideout.

A radio studio broadcast of the Jell-O program, moving into a comedic retelling of Snow White set in a Long Island farmhouse hideout and a Park Avenue home.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
