What happens

Jack Benny and Mary Livingstone trim their Christmas tree at Benny's house in Beverly Hills, but the string of lights keeps shorting out whenever Benny tinkers with the wiring. Benny insists he knows enough about electricity to fix the problem himself, while Rochester refuses to touch the wires at all. Friends drop in over the holiday, including Phil Harris, Don Wilson and Dennis Day, and the household's mishaps continue through the evening. This is a Christmas Eve episode of the Jack Benny radio series, first broadcast on December 25, 1949, on NBC and CBS.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
