What happens
Jack Benny returns from a month's vacation in Palm Springs and clashes with his cast over the trip. Jack boasts about how he roughed it on the desert and shows off a muscle, then threatens to straighten out Dennis Day, who has been acting fresh. Mary Livingstone and Don Wilson argue with him about the drive home, which the group insists took four days and involved a series of mishaps. Phil Harris joins in with his own version of the trip, and the cast shares rival memories of where things went wrong on the road. The episode is part of the Jack Benny series, sponsored by Jell-O, and features Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
