What happens

Jack Benny is vacationing in Palm Springs with his cast, and the program's usual comic bickering fills the broadcast. Mary Livingston, Dennis Day and Phil Harris trade jokes while Jack arranges for the Guadalajara Trio to sing his song in English. The trio's manager explains they perform in Spanish, and Jack insists they can't be used. Charlie Farrell, the Racquet Club's owner, objects to the town's annual murder mystery sketch being set at his club. Jack agrees to move the scene elsewhere, and the sketch begins with a phone call reporting a murder and a retired police chief being pulled into the case. The broadcast is a Palm Springs holiday show featuring Jack Benny and his regular company.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
