What happens

Jack Benny oversleeps and rushes to the NBC studio to do his radio program, leaving his valet Rochester to help him dress in a hurry. Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris and Don Wilson wait for him at the studio and begin filling time on the air. Jack's delays pile up, including a mix-up over a package, a missing wristwatch and a rushed exit without his trousers. The broadcast is part of the Jell-O program, which airs on NBC and CBS Radio, and the cast is led by Jack Benny alongside Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris. The episode first aired on February 6, 1938.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
