What happens
Jack Benny and his cast perform a comedy variety broadcast from the Santa Barbara redistribution station. Benny is handed a delayed action bomb as a joke gift, and he trades jibes with Don Wilson, Mary Livingstone and Phil Harris. Mary reads a letter from her mother, and Larry Stevens sings a song. A visit from Alan Ladd leads to a quarrel and a plug for his new picture. The show ends with a mock detective sketch, The Woman in the Window, in which Benny and Officer O'Hara investigate a shooting at a house where a young woman says her husband has been killed. The broadcast was part of the Jack Benny series, first aired on March 25, 1945, on NBC and CBS Radio, and stars Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris.

Listen for: Benny's delayed action bomb gag and the exchange with Alan Ladd.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
