What happens

Jack Benny hosts friends at his house to listen to the World Series. Rochester prepares his morning bath and Jack takes a cold shower instead, while Mary Livingstone talks about her cold and a recent doctor visit. Dennis Day arrives with his arm in a sling, and Phil Harris stops by briefly before leaving for a wedding. Jack and Mary bet on the teams, and Don Wilson joins the group. The gang settles in to hear the game, but the radio keeps cutting out and the broadcast is repeatedly interrupted.

Characters: Jack Benny, Rochester, Mary Livingstone, Dennis Day, Phil Harris, Don Wilson

Listen for: Jack's cold shower and Rochester's bath routine, and the running bet between Jack and Mary on the Philadelphia and Yankees teams.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
