What happens

Jack Benny is confined to bed with the flu, and his friend Don Wilson visits to keep him company, reading aloud from a novel about castaways on a tropical island. Jack keeps dozing off and repeatedly asks for the news, so Don tries several radio stations. Visitors and calls interrupt the afternoon, including Phil Harris, Dennis Day, a neighbor bringing homemade soup, and a nurse and a doctor who arrive to care for him. The Jack Benny program is a comedy series, first heard on NBC and CBS Radio. Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
