What happens
Jack Benny closes the season's last broadcast of his Jell-O program, aired on June 27, 1937, on NBC and CBS Radio, with Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris. Benny complains about how exhausting the job is, and the cast trades jokes with him, teasing him about his thirteen minutes of weekly work. Andy visits to say goodbye and talks about his voice lessons, while Phil Harris and his band play numbers. Plans for summer trips to Europe and Dallas come up, and the cast reflects on how close the group has become. Johnny Green then joins Benny for a violin piece called Body and Soul, and the show ends with a preview of the summer Jell-O program.

Characters: Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson, Phil Harris, Don Wilson, Johnny Green, Kenny Baker
Listen for: Benny's violin solo of Body and Soul with Johnny Green at the piano, and the cast's teasing about Benny's workload.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
