What happens
Jack Benny takes his weekly violin lesson at his Beverly Hills home with Professor LeBlanc, who keeps pressing him for payment. The lesson is repeatedly interrupted: a string snaps, Benny's neighbors call him out to play football, and phone calls from Mary Livingston and Don Wilson keep pulling him away. Rochester fusses over his bath and house duties, and Benny keeps returning to his vault to fetch the professor's fifty cents. Phil Harris and his friend Dennis also drop by with chatter about cars and football, and the boys' game in the yard becomes the day's main disruption. The series is Jack Benny, first aired on December 7, 1947, and the leads are Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
