Jack Benny is sick in bed at his Beverly Hills home after being robbed of ten thousand dollars, a loss he blames on a publicity stunt by his press agent Steve Bradley. Rochester tends to him while Mary Livingstone visits with fruit and news of relatives who want part of his winnings. A detective arrives with questions about the robbery, and a telephone call warns Benny to keep quiet about the bandit's appearance. Later an income tax man named Rainey visits, pressing Benny about taxes on his supposed winnings. Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
