What happens
Jack Benny is confined to bed with a severe case of flu, so the Jell-O program goes on without him that evening. Announcer Don Wilson explains the absence and says Mary Livingstone is caring for him. Phil Harris, Kenny Baker and Don Wilson carry the broadcast with guest Trudy Wood, performing songs and trading jokes in Benny's place. The program mixes musical numbers, friendly banter between the cast and advertisements for Jell-O products. The show closes with the cast wishing Benny a speedy recovery and promising his return the following week. The Jell-O program originally aired on May 23, 1937, on NBC and CBS Radio, with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris among the lead actors.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
