What happens

Jack Benny hosts his radio program, and the show's regulars, Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Dennis Day and Eddie Anderson, are at the center of the comedy. Mary is absent for the broadcast, and Dennis is pressed into playing her part. Phil boasts about his new night-school learning and shows off with quiz answers. Benny then sets up a comic football sketch, Flatfoot College against Meatball Tech, in which Rochester is drafted as a reluctant water boy and the cast plays scrambling, ill-prepared gridiron players. The episode is a Jack Benny program first broadcast on 1940-10-27 on NBC and CBS radio.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
