What happens

Jack Benny stages a comic sketch on his radio program, a parody of the film High Noon, with Mary Livingstone playing his bride. The show opens in confusion, with the cast running late after daylight saving time changes and Jack's watch getting mixed up. Jack, as the town marshal Gary Kane, is preparing for his wedding when he learns that an outlaw he jailed years earlier is due in town at high noon. He sets out to find men to help him face the threat, and his search takes him through a string of mishaps and absurd encounters. Don Wilson, Dennis Day and Bob Crosby appear in the program's chatter and bits. The guide is limited to the first part of the broadcast.

Listen for: The running gag about daylight saving time and the mixed-up watches, and the parody of the High Noon wedding and the search for deputies.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
